For Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks

  • Homemade Pizza Crust – The base for these cheesy breadsticks, soft and perfect for baking.
  • Olive Oil – Used to coat the baking sheet and help the dough crisp up in the oven.
  • Butter (melted) – Adds richness and helps spread the garlic flavor evenly across the dough.
  • Minced Garlic – Brings the savory and aromatic flavor to the breadsticks.
  • Italian Seasoning – This gives the breadsticks that classic Italian flavor with herbs like oregano and basil.
  • Salt – A pinch of salt enhances all the flavors and balances the richness.
  • Shredded Mozzarella – The key cheese that melts beautifully, creating a gooey, cheesy texture.
  • Shredded Parmesan – Adds a sharp, nutty flavor to complement the mozzarella.

For Marinara Dipping Sauce (Optional)

  • Store-bought or Homemade Marinara Sauce – A tangy and savory dipping sauce to pair with the breadsticks, though optional if you like them plain!

Save

  1. Can I use store-bought pizza dough instead of homemade?
Yes! If you’re in a pinch, using store-bought pizza dough will save you time. Simply roll it out, follow the recipe as directed, and you’ll still get delicious, cheesy breadsticks!
  2. How do I keep the cheese from spilling out while baking?
To prevent cheese spillage, consider using part-skim mozzarella, as it melts more evenly. Also, bake at a slightly lower temperature if needed to control the melt.

  3. Can I prepare the dough in advance?
Definitely! You can prepare the dough up to a day ahead and store it in the fridge. When you’re ready, simply roll it out and bake as directed.
  4. What if I don’t have Italian seasoning?
No worries! You can easily substitute with a mix of dried basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary for that signature Italian flavor.
  5. How do I store and reheat leftovers?
Leftover breadsticks can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes until warm.
