Notes

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz Ribeye Steak, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 4 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 10-12 slices provolone cheese
 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the Steak:
    • Heat canola oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the steak and cook for about 2 minutes per side to sear.
    • Once seared, pour in Worcestershire sauce and toss the steak.
    • Remove the steak from the pan and set it aside.
  3. Cook the Vegetables:
    • In the same skillet, melt butter and add the bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms.
    • Season with salt and pepper.
    • Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Prepare the Bread:
    • Spread mayonnaise evenly on both halves of the French bread.
    • Layer each bread half with provolone cheese slices.
  5. Assemble the Sandwich:
    • Add the cooked steak and sautéed vegetables on top of the cheese.
    • Top with the remaining provolone cheese slices.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
  7. Serve:
    • Slice into 2-inch pieces and serve immediately.
