  1. Can I use a different type of bread?
Absolutely! While French bread gives the perfect balance of crisp and soft, you can easily swap it with hoagie rolls or a baguette. Whatever you have on hand works fine.
  2. How can I add more flavor to the bread?
For extra flavor, spread a little butter or mayo on the bread before adding the toppings. This will help seal in the flavors and add a bit of richness to each bite.
  3. Can I prepare the steak and veggies in advance?
Yes! You can cook the steak and sauté the veggies ahead of time, then store them in the fridge. When you’re ready, just assemble the bread and bake.
  4. What if I don’t have provolone cheese?
No problem! Mozzarella or cheddar cheese make great substitutes. They’ll melt just as beautifully, adding a different yet equally delicious flavor.
  5. How do I keep the bread from getting soggy?
To avoid sogginess, be sure to not overload the bread with toppings, and ensure the steak and veggies aren’t too wet. Toasting the bread lightly beforehand also helps create a nice barrier!
